Most voice tools stream your microphone to a server. Voooxly runs the speech model on your Mac, so the only thing that leaves your machine is nothing at all.
Press and hold the right ⌘ key. A small indicator tells you Voooxly is listening.

Fix a name in the pasted text and Voooxly learns the right spelling, usually before you've even left the field — no word lists to maintain. To do it, it reads the text field it pasted into for a few seconds, on your Mac: never password fields, nothing stored but the correction. Settings shows you everything it has learned and takes any of it back out, and one switch turns the whole thing off.

Yes. No account, no trial, no subscription. You bring your own AI for text cleanup — a local Ollama or an API key — or use none at all: raw transcription works out of the box.

Nowhere. Audio is transcribed on your Mac by a local Whisper model. If you connect a cloud AI for cleanup, only the text is sent — never audio.
One thing, for one purpose: after it pastes, Voooxly reads the text of the field it just pasted into — a handful of times over about fifteen seconds, then it stops — to see whether you corrected a word. It stops early if you switch to another app, it never reads password fields, and it reads nothing at any other moment. The text is not stored, not logged and not sent anywhere: only the spelling you corrected is saved, in ~/.voooxly/dictionary.json, which you can open and edit. There are no screenshots, ever. Settings › “Learn from my corrections” turns the whole thing off, and then it reads nothing at all.
No. Without any AI, Voooxly pastes the raw transcription — already well punctuated. With one, it also tidies grammar and formatting according to the mode you're in.

Whisper large-v3-turbo understands ~99 languages, strongest in English and Spanish. Voooxly follows your system language automatically.
The app checks a version file at launch. When there's a new version, a pop-up offers it — once per version — and an "Update available" item stays in the menu bar. Accept and Voooxly installs it itself: it downloads the notarized DMG, swaps the app and reopens, with no dragging to Applications. If anything about that fails it falls back to opening the DMG so you can drag it across the old way.
You can now see everything Voooxly has learned and remove any of it, in Settings › “Remove from dictionary”. And it no longer learns a correction that only changes a word's ending — turning “email” into “emails” is grammar, not spelling, and it has no business becoming a permanent rule. In 1.9.0 just before it: corrections are learned on the spot, seconds after pasting instead of waiting for your next dictation, so a fix you make in a message you then send is no longer lost. To do that it reads the field it pasted into for a few seconds, on your Mac; Settings › “Learn from my corrections” turns it off completely. Recently before that: transcription ~5x faster on typical sentences, full Spanish interface, guide and onboarding detected automatically, “Correct last dictation” in the menu, a Dictation language setting that locks onto your language by itself, and updates that install themselves.
